Any which way, we can help ease the tug of adhesions or scar tissue (and gravity) and work towards balancing your musculoskeletal and connective tissue integrity. Depending upon your birth experience, we will incorporate these techniques (which do include Arvigo®) when you are best ready to receive them. Please get a written okay from your midwife or physician to proceed.

  • If I am trying to conceive, when is the best time to make an appointment for Maya Abdominal therapy?

    Please come as early in your journey as you can, whether you are going natural or using medical intervention. But timing of the actual appointment is important: Schedule after you are done bleeding, and before you ovulate. That's the best time.

  • What should I expect during my first Woman Terrain Service?

    If you have asked for Maya Abdominal, we will have a four-page form for you to fill out! Health history and other pertinent information will be reviewed with your therapist before you begin your session so that your special needs are addressed. We recognize the very personal nature of this work and aim to support you as you wish. Along the way, we hope to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and support your body's natural wisdom and ability to heal.

  • Are there specialized services for pregnancy?

    Yes! We should note that prenatal massage is recommended during only the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Also, we have massage tables that tilt the upper body up at an angle safe for the baby and for you - you're nearly sitting up, which allows us to do good neck and shoulder massage! Of course, we do side-lying positions also, with pillows and cushioning, so your hips and back will be happier. Choose Mother's in Waiting or Arvigo(R) Prenatal Massage, where we do gentle hands on your belly as well.
